Established in 1992, S.M.K Raja Mahadi Marching Band had marched into its 14th year.

With the start of 10 brass and 6 percussion instruments powered by 20 members, the band had gone through all its up down and critical moments.

Without the supports and assistance from the school and PTA (Parents, Teachers Association), the band was at the threat of dismissal since it was established.

Since its establishment, the band was only able to perform small inner school events due to the critical condition of the band caused by many factors.

However, the history of the band changed at the year of 1999.

Under the leadership of the president of that year, all the problems including instrument shortage, financial support from the school and PTA, professional instructor and discipline problem of the band had overcomed.

The band reaches its golden age in the same year for being able to purchase its first batch of new instruments since its establishment in the year 1992.

The band had convinced the management of the school by participating in the band's first ever State Marching Band Competition.

In the same year, the band has become the Champion of Merdeka Day Parade, performed for Jabatan Kastam dan Eksais Malaysia, runner-up for Tahun Melawat Selangor 1999 parade and Wesak Day Celebration.

Things totally changed after the retirement of the band's president of 1999.

The following presidents of the band was unable to continue the band's glory journey, and subsequently the band had down again to be as its previous condition.

However, in the year of 2005, with the help from the band's faithful and committed ex-members, the band was able to, once again, continue the glory journey.

After 6 years of silence, the band once again participate in the State Marching Band Competition in 2005, and amazingly, the band won the Best Drum Major Award.

The highest achievement in the band's history. In 2006, the band participate again in the State Marching Band Competition.

Without disappointing the supporters who believe and trust in the band, the Best Drum Major Award in once again belongs to Raja Mahadi Marching Band, for 2 consecutive years.

And worth to be mention, it is the same Drum Major of the band to realize this glorious and outstanding achievement.

Now, the band is able to perform in 40 pieces of instruments and participate  in all kind of parade performance and marching competitions.

After all the hardships and failures faced in the past, the members realize there are more to be done in order to get back the glory of the band.

Members are at their top form and are more committed and dedicated now.

The band is looking forward to winning the Best Drum Major Award again for 3 consecutive years and Top 3 placing in 2007 State Marching Band Competition.
