The Malaysia National Band Competition (NATCOMP) is Malaysia's Premier Band Competition that showcases best of the best bands in Malaysia for the coveted National Champion. The Malaysian Band Association in partnership with Ministry of Education Malaysia and Z.I Production Sdn Bhd will be on a national mission in search of the top 10 bands in the country to compete at the National Finals on 7 July 2011 in Kuala Lumpur.
Themed Unity in Harmony, the Malaysia National Band Competition (NATCOMP) is aimed at propagating national unity in the country through music and marching band related activities. The NATCOMP 2011 which now runs in its 17th Edition will be divided into two main events as Preliminary Zone for each Regions and National Finals.
The Preliminary Rounds will begin from 21 May 2011 in Miri, 28 May (Kuala Terengganu) 12 Jun (Johor Bahru) 15 June (Kuala Lumpur) 18 June (Ipoh) 25 June (Alor Setar) before the highly charged National Finals. A total of 44 bands consisting of 3000 participants will participate in this year's competition. From the national pool, the top 10 bands based on overall national rankings will qualify for the NATCOMP 2011 Grand finals on 7 July 2011 in Kuala Lumpur.
